treat with olive oil or chopping board oil.
One day we met Hamid. He was sitting under a street lamp working on a piece of furniture for the Marrakech souk. I asked him to make some chopping boards from leftover pieces he had. They sold quickly. I ordered 100. He beamed. I exhibited them at Formex. Then came an order for 1500. His life is suddenly dignified. He gets good pay for his work, has installed electricity in his workshop and is up and running.
A chopping board is a chopping board, but the story behind it changes people's lives.
